Now Hiring for Energy Efficiency Technicians (EETs)
We will pay you! –and- We will train you!
EET trainees will learn to conduct energy audits and retrofit homes for energy efficiency through PAID on-the-job training, and will receive an opportunity to become certified as Home Energy Raters (HERS) by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). Trainees will also receive assistance with job placement upon completion of the program.
· Build great skills, and hands-on experience in energy efficiency services and weatherization.
· Learn to use building performance-testing equipment to measure, assess, and document specific performance characteristics of homes.
· Receive training and take the exam to become a certified Home Energy Rater, working with Bridgemont Community and Technical College and a RESNET-accredited trainer.
· Work with CCCWV’s Weatherize West Virginia! Program and other “green” project initiatives.
· Serve your community by reducing homeowners’ heating bills and making their homes more efficient.
· Access a whole new emerging job market in energy efficiency.
Requirements: Applicants must be 18 or older and will be required to establish WIA-eligibility. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
10th grade-level reading and math skills (inc. practical algebra) are required
and will be assessed by WorkForce West Virginia during the referral
process using the TABE test.
Job Location: Positions available based in the Kanawha County area.
Program Length: Transitional employment of less than a year, with job
placement assistance upon graduation.
Hours per week: Up to 40.
